🅿️ PARK(ING) DAY IS COMING TO DOWNTOWN DENTON

What if a parking space could be a coffee shop? A reading nook? A dance floor? A tiny forest?

On September 18th, from 5–10 PM, Stronger Denton is bringing the worldwide Park(ing) Day movement to our own downtown streets. For one evening, we're taking spaces built for cars and turning them into spaces built for neighbors — because a city isn't just how fast you can drive through it. It's where you stop, sit down, and talk to the person next to you.

This started as a simple idea in San Francisco two decades ago — turn a metered parking spot into a tiny public park — and it's grown into a global day of imagination in cities everywhere (myparkingday.org). Denton, it's our turn.

We're giving away free booth space to any business, nonprofit, or neighbor who wants to dream up something fun for their little slice of downtown. Bring a coffee cart. Bring your kid's lemonade stand. Bring board games, live music, a plant swap, a story hour, a whole tiny living room set up on the pavement. If you've got an idea and a little creativity, we've got the space for you.

This is downtown Denton, reimagined for one evening — not by the city, but by us. By whoever shows up with a folding chair and a good idea.

Want a free booth, space for your art installation, or a way to get involved?

Sign up here — spaces are limited, and we want a good mix of folks, so don't wait too long.

Come see what our streets could be, one parking space at a time.
